The challenge of coming up with great film or digital photos can be overwhelming even for a professional. The main challenge would be in capturing the feeling so that it pops out from the picture. Here are 10 tips that amateur photographers can try to bring put emotion into their photos.

1 .Know Your Camera
It’s really important to feel at home with your equipment. It does not happen overnight, so practice. Also, know that a film camera has a very different output from a digital camera. For one, the film has a grainy texture to the photo compared to the digital photo.
2. If You Have A Subject, Get Him (Or Her) To Relax
A stiff person will come out harsh. If you have to, talk to your subject before or capture them in candid shots instead. Even that time-old tradition of counting down doesn’t work. If you must, count down but don’t stick to the usual 1-2-3. Count by twos or go up to 4. It’s an ice breaker, if anything else.
3. Use Plain Background
You either focus on a beautiful, colorful background or a beautiful person. Chose one only.
4. Don’t Forget The Flash
5. Lock Focus
If your camera has this feature, use it whenever you move your subject away from the center of the photo. Auto focus means the sharper image would be the center always unless you override it with the lock focus feature.
6. Change Your Perspective
Why not look at your shot and see how you can alter your perception. You could zoom in to a specific facial feature or object, or tilt your camera different direction. Try landscape instead of portrait or shooting from above or below the object of your picture.
7. Go with Action Shots
Take a series of shots just like a professional photographer shooting athletes or models.
8. Think Out of the Box
It’s important to keep your options open especially when it comes to something creative like photography. Thus, you don’t have to follow conventional rules of composition. Make your own type of edges or center. Don’t let yourself be dictated to by what is acceptable.
9. Experiment with Lighting
10. Go Candid
Candid shots almost always elicit reaction both from the person in the photograph and the people viewing it. Sneak up on someone and just take a shot without crossing the borders of decency.
